Okay I’m going to say it, I’m a team Adam girl all the way. I know, I know Warner has a huge vocal fan base and I totally respect that, please don’t try to sway me you won’t. This series is exactly the reason I love/hate love triangles. I always like the underdog, the nice guy, the friend the guy who never gets the girl. It pains me to say this but I liked Warner’s Novella better, shhhh don’t tell Adam.Adam is a protector, he sees Juliette for who she is and who she is becoming. He sees her strengths and weaknesses and really only wants to keep the people he loves safe. But when both Juliette and his little brother James are in immanent danger at the same time he must choose who to try to save. While I think it is a no brainer on who he must choose he struggles with it.
I was a little disappointed with Adams POV, I thought it would be a little stronger but I found that I didn’t like him as much when not seen through Juliette’s eyes. However he knows that he loves Juliette, but is conflicted by how she is moving away from him and dumped him. Can he go after her if it means putting James in danger again? At the conclusion of Fracture me Adam really is fractured torn between the two people he loves and blames himself for Juliette’s situation.
After reading Frature Me and the first few chapters of Ignite Me I really hope that Adam and Juliette don’t spend the majority of Ignite Me apart. I also hope that the loss they felt will be the wake up call they need. But it could go either way still in the love triangle, which is why I rarely read them. Adam must protect James but does that mean he must leave Juliette to Warner or will he fight for her still. I guess we will see in February.
Side note, Kenji was still awesome as always.

I am a die hard Warner fan, but I was willing to give Adam a fair shot. I try to keep an open mind.
Honestly?
This book only intensified my feelings about Warner and Adam.
Here is the bottom line. Adam was an important part of who Juliette was and who she has become. he pulled her out of a bad, horrible place. he taught her she was worth something. She is worth loving.
But Adam has done all he can for her. His priorities are where they should be, and her priorities are shifting to where they should be, but they are not the same priorities. Adam loves her, but he loves his brother more. And that is ok, it is the way it should be.
Juliette feels an understood loyalty to him, but is he still right for her? Is she still right for him?
Warner has only her That is all his world revolves around. And Juliette has no one else. Those two make each other better, stronger. After reading this, it became obvious that Adam does not understand her. Juliette is broken in many ways, and Adam is still trying to fix her. She can't be fixed. Adam looks at her as something to protect, he sees her weaknesses instead of her potential.
To warner, all she is potential and the kind of crazy he can relate with.
After this, if she doesn't end up with Warner I will be shocked. In fact, if she doesn't end up with Warner, it will just be wrong. Or MAYBE Kenji. I am starting to see that as a possibility.
This book includes the first two chapters of Ignite me, and really I just got myself excited and left out on a ledge by reading it. I am so excited about Ignite me!
Fracture Me is all in Adam's point of view in some of the events that happen at the last half of Unravel Me. I have to say up front Adam's perspective got kind of annoying because he drives me insane. I think his he-man sexist kind of thoughts can get to be a bit annoying and his actions and motivations are all over the place. I don't think this is anything to do with writing and everything to do with Adam's personality. He's just a hypocrite and a bit of an idiot. I can't go into many details without giving away spoilers, but there's a part where he feels like he has to choose between Juliette and his brother James. When he doesn't, at all, and he's over dramatizing this to make it more over the top. He also calls Kenji his best friend, which is so weird to me because he is so mean to Kenji. And not in a playful way but in a literal I'll kill you way.
The thing I do like about this novella is that we get to Kenji's reaction to some of the events that happen. Because Juliette isn't with Kenji during these moments we don't get to see how he would have reacted in Unravel Me when we are in her POV. I have mentioned this above in the Unravel Me review but he is one of my favorite characters and I don't think we get enough of him, so it is nice to get more of his perspective on the events happening in the story.
The writing, as it has been throughout the whole series up to this point, is great. I love the dialogue and how great Mafi is at writing great characters. I also really appreciate that sometimes it's really poetic and beautiful.
Overall I think that this is worth picking up if you're reading (or have read) the trilogy. The novellas are pretty short and easy to whiz through. I think it gives more character depth and helps the reader get a better understanding of what is happening and what's to come.
