BELIEVE THE 1-STAR REVIEWS THIS IS THE MOST BORING BOOK EVER WRITTEN.

The Most Boring Book Ever Written An Adventureless ChooseYourPath Novella Boring Books 1 edition by Daniel Pitts Rudolf Kerkhoven Literature Fiction eBooks

I don't know what rating I was going to give this. usually I come to the end of the book knowing how much I liked it which is why I settled with a three. that's not a bad three, its just a three because I still have no idea. Its something different which should absolutely be welcomed to the kindle. There are a million romance books and horror books and young adult whatever. This is both welcome and daring and I would say well done to the writers for putting it together
Is it entertaining? sort of. Its certainly not the most boring book ever written in my opinion, and while its not the best, I would say it lies somewhere in between. I came to the end of the story after 20% the first time around which sort of tells me im boring. and I had a good laugh at that. But it just didn't have some of the more entertaining elements of some other choose your own adventure books ive read.
I settled on a three, but its a good three. and if you read this review I would say go ahead and get a copy. The one thing you should do is give it a go and see if it works for you.

The Most Boring Book Ever Written An Adventureless ChooseYourPath Novella Boring Books 1 edition by Daniel Pitts Rudolf Kerkhoven Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is a simple Choose Your Own Adventure style book, I actually liked that it revolved around everyday mundane getting ready for work around the house tasks but I would have liked to have seen some of the threads continue on a bit pass the I arrive at work. Especially when you consider the supermarket thread indicates a major event happening, I would have liked to have experienced that at the airport (the character is a pilot) through other choice paths. All except one path (the supermarket) are fairly short, your morning journey comes to an end very fast. Not sure why the author chose to make buying a supermarket sandwich a monumental read but I would have liked to have seen more choices during it such as give the sandwich to the homeless guy, correct a stupid comment by the checkout chick, things like this. What also lets this down from a higher rating is that a number of choices end up at the same pages so it doesn't matter what you choose at times, they all have the same outcome. More independent threads were really needed to make this better, but what's here will pass a couple of hours of your time. It's good enough that I'll check out another of these books by this author one day but it simply isn't in the same league as the Click Your Poison novels for example. It also isn't formatted as well, with this one there's no links back to the start when you reach the end, or an index back to the choice pages. You've really got to rely on bookmarking each choice page as you come to it on your and then going back to it that way.

I did find the main character fairly interesting, he's opinionated and a fair bit self centred but that's always fun with this sort of read.
This book is hysterically funny if you find dry, cynical things to be humorous. If you remember the "choose your own adventure books" from your 80's childhood, this book is like that but is not juvenile. Every few pages you are forced to make a choice. If you try to make any decisions that are intended to be exciting, spruce things up, make the story more interesting, you will find that the author somehow always prohibits your intention from being realized. The main plot of this book seems to be geared at helping middle class Americans understand how pointless and boring their every thought and action in their boring little lives really are. The author is skilled at this and if you read it aloud to the right friend with the right personality, you may, like me and my friend, end up laughing your head off. I fully recommend the experience.
Warning you may find yourself monitoring your own boring self-talk as you go about your daily life more intently after reading this book.
The title is a little (a very little) misleading... the book is not actually the most boring book ever written. That honor would go to one of the texts I was assigned in high school, although I'm not sure which, as I can't seem to remember any of them-- only the ennui. However, this is different it's at one and the same time a book hardly worth reading, and one which should be read again and again.

I realize that my last sentence may appear nonsensical, but it's not. This is a book of choices, which send you to different pages and sections of the book. If each time you read it you make different choices, you'll end up reading different books. None of them will be exactly scintillating, but at least they're different.

Despite its remarkable lack of great literary merit, I'm going to go ahead and say

Recommended.
Maybe stupidly brilliant. Or brilliantly stupid. Who can say? It's pretty much exactly as advertised. It's the Seinfeld concept of a "show about nothing" in book form. Only instead of the characters getting caught up in humorously ironic situations fueled by their own neuroses and obsessions with the minutae of day-to-day existence, this book is just about the mostly random, exceedingly dull routines of a person's day. From brushing teeth to selecting neckwear to driving to work, it's all in here. And it's all utterly boring.

Intentionally so, of course. There is a playfulness to the language that offers a decent share of dryly humorous moments. But this is still basically a one-joke premise milked for all it's worth. And once you navigate through this day a couple of times (it's written in an interactive/choose-your-own-adventure style), there's not a tremendous urge to seek out the remaining "narrative" threads. As a cursory read, it's definitely worth exploring just for that one joke, but don't expect to cherish revisits. After all, it happily promises to be the most boring book ever written. Though I'm sure people who aren't enamored with Joyce, Dostoevsky or Pynchon would eagerly disagree.
